This was the goal of the local government of E.B Magalona led by Mayor Marvin Malacon and the Allianz PNB Life Insurance Inc. as they signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for mangrove plantation project in rites held at the E.B Magalona Municipal Hall Thursday afternoon, June 27.

Allianz PNB Life Insurance Inc. represented by Rosalyn Martinez and Enrique B. Magalona town represented by Mayor Marvin Malacon, signed a memorandum of agreement Wednesday for the conservation and protection of the environment through a community-based mangroves conservation project in the town.

Martinez, Allianz chief marketing officer, turned over a check for P150,000 to the mayor to support the municipality’s environmental project, particularly the mangrove restoration.

286 top honor students from different elementary and high schools in E.B. Magalona received cash incentives from the town Mayor Hon. Marvin M. Malacon today held at E.B. Magalona Wilkinson Social Court on the 121st founding anniversary of the Department of Education.

Mrs. Angeles Verdeprado, District Supervisor of Dep. Ed. in E.B. Magalona together with school heads of different schools lead the distribution of cash to students with the parents.

A traffic discipline zone is being eyed in E.B. Magalona town, Negros Occidental, to lessen road accidents, Police Captain Robelito Mariano, head of the Highway Patrol Group in the province, said Tuesday.

He said they are coordinating with Mayor Marvin Malacon about the creation of an inter-agency task force, to be composed of personnel from the Land Transportation Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, and other concerned agencies on road safety, as well as trucking services, bus companies, motorcycle clubs, and transport groups.

The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor aided 2,000 Saraviahanon of different services during the caravan today, June 20, 2019 held at Wilkinson Social Court from different National Agencies such as Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Pubic Employment Services Office (PESO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine Statistics Office (PSA), Department of Agrarian Reform(DAR), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Bureau of Fishery and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Social Security System (SSS), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) rendered services to the people according to their respective office mandate.

EB Magalona tapping Malacon PPP to spur economy of the town

Mayor Marvin Malacon will tap the private sector for possible private-public partnerships to boost the economy of EB Magalona.

Malacon, in a consultation with the private sector, presented his Tumandok Cares Developmental Agenda.

The mayor said the priority projects of his second term are, the construction of the farm to market roads, tourism highway and the Coastal Road/Tourism Highway; the development of the Malogo River Water and Eco-Tourism and the establishment of Saravia Trade and Processing Industrial Complex envisioned to be the first Agro-Industrial Processing Zone.
