Oathtaking Ceremony: EB Magalona BMMFA Officers Sworn In

OATHTAKING. The officers of Barangay Manta-angan Marginal Fisherfolks Association (BMMFA) in E. B. Magalona took their oath of office before Vice Mayor Eric Matulac at the BMMFA Cooperative House in the same barangay Wednesday [Sept. 4].

Witnessing the oathtaking ceremony were Mayor Marvin Malacon, Sangguniang Bayan Members Gilda Parcon and Edgardo Agravante Jr., Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon, Manta-angan Barangay Council members, Sto. Niño Punong Barangay Romulo Villanueva, Municipal Agriculturist Efren Garcia Jr., Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) chair Bobby Paran, Mayor's Private Secretary Joel Antonio, and former Municipal Planning and Development head Engr. Erwin Poniado.

The Barangay Manta-angan Marginal Fisherfolks Association, led by Juanito Fernandez as its president, has about 51 members.

Mayor Malacon also turned over a sewing machine to the association, and pledged a P100,000 assistance to buy a tricycle that will be used to transport their fresh catch to the Saravia Fish Market in the town proper, in order to increase their income.

The mayor assured the officers and members of the strong support of the Municipal Government their association.

He also urged them to work for the success of the association and make it more responsive to the needs of the community.

EA Malacon, for his part, distributed food packs and snacks to the officers and members.

The new officers of the Barangay Manta-angan Marginal Fisherfolks Association are:
