EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon is considering private-public partnerships as a method of boosting the local economy. He recently presented his Tumandok Cares Developmental Agenda, which includes a host of priority projects including various roads, Malogo River and eco-tourism development, and establishing the Saravia Trade and Processing Industrial Complex.

The mayor said the town can provide investors with skilled manpower and raw materials, which means employment opportunities for local residents.

He added, more employment means more tax money that can be spend on providing social services.

The municipal government will also amend its comprehensive land use policy and tax ordinance to appear more attractive to potential investors, Malacon added.

Present for the presentation were Negros Occidental Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson, Third District Representative-elect Francisco Benitez, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) President Roberto Montelibano, MBCCI CEO Frank Carbon, among others./DGB, WDJ
