E. B. Magalona receives SGLG national award

Mayor Marvin Malacon received for the Municipality of E. B. Magalona the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) national award at rites at The Manila Hotel today [Dec. 9].
The award was presented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla Jr.
Malacon was accompanied by DILG- E. B. Magalona Local Government Operations Officer VI Atty. Pierra Lamayo, OIC-Municipal Planning and Development Officer Atty. Saviya Basille Albestor, Municipal Treasurer Riza Diaz, Municipal Budget Officer Debbie Ann Monte, and Municipal Accountant Mardy Pagunsan.
The award came with an incentive fund of P1,153,000 worth of projects for the municipality.
Of the total 1,634 local government units (LGUs) across the country, there were 714 national awardees for SGLG this year, which included 41 provinces, 96 cities, and 577 municipalities.
The SGLG Awards is the highest recognition conferred by the DILG to outstanding LGUs that are compliant with pertinent national laws and guidelines, and excel in various indicators of good governance.
In congratulating the LGUs, the SGLG had earlier posted: "Your commitment to excellence in public service and dedication to the principles of good governance have set a remarkable standard for local leadership. Your unwavering dedication to serving the people is an inspiration to us all."
Lamayo, for her part, said the national award means the Municipality of E. B. Magalona has excelled in 10 indicators of good governance, and this redounds to better services that ultimately benefit every Saraviahanon.*
