ANOTHER NATIONAL AWARD FOR E.B. MAGALONA

In addition to the string of national awards that the Municipality of E. B. Magalona earned last year is the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) Passer award that the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced last week.

E. B. Magalona was one the 17 LGUs in the Province of Negros Occidental that made the cut.

E. B. Magalona's rating was 91.5%, passing all Assessment Areas: Survival, Development, Protection, Participation, and Governance.

In her letter to Mayor Marvin Malacon dated January 17, 2025, DILG- Negros Island Region (NIR) OIC-regional director Lailyn Ortiz said, "Congratulations [on] your leadership and may this achievement continue to inspire the Municipal Government to sustain its child-friendly programs, projects, activities, and services for a child-friendly Philippines."

The CFLGA is a results-based assessment tool and an annual mandatory audit designed to gauge the level of performance of LGUs in implementing programs and instituting measures to uplift the welfare of the children, the DILG said in a congratulatory post on Facebook.
