WOMEN'S MONTH IN E. B. MAGALONA

Mayor Marvin Malacon, Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan led the kickoff ceremony for the National Women's Month celebration in the Municipality of E. B. Magalona, during the flag-raising ceremony at the Public Plaza Monday [March 6].

The kickoff ceremony was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, headed by OIC- MSWD Emy Lyn Hibionada, and attended by local officials and personnel of the municipal government.

The MSWDO, in partnership with various women's organizations in the municipality, has lined up a series of activities to highlight this year's theme, "WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society."

In Monday's flag-raising ceremony, the MSWDO held a kickoff program, including an orientation on Women's Month celebration that was presented by Hibionada.

Tomorrow [March 8] is "Purple Wednesday" in the municipality, as supporters of women's advocacies are envouraged to wear purple clothes.

On Friday [March 10], they will hold a mangrove-planting in Barangay Tomongtong.

On March 22, the 23 officers of Anti-VAWC (Violence Against Women and Children) Council will undergo a refresher seminar on Anti-VAWC policies.

Last March 1, Hibionada represented the Municipal Government to the opening ceremony of the province-wide launching of National Women's Month in Cadiz City, spearheaded by the Provincial Women's Council and graced by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.*
