March 22, 2024

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. visited the Municipality of E. B. Magalona yesterday [March 21], on the sidelines of his visit to Victorias City for the opening day of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival.

Mayor Marvin Malacon, Sangguniang Bayan Members Reylan Gamboa Sr. and Marlon Malacon, president of Liga ng mga Barangay; and Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon welcomed Revilla to the Municipality and hosted a consultative meeting with him at the Asenso Hall.

Also welcoming him at the Public Plaza were Municipal Government department and section heads, and personnel.

Joining the meeting at the Asenso Hall were punong barangays, who raised several concerns with the senator.

Mayor Malacon also mentioned to Revilla about medical assistance for Saraviahanon residents with serious illnesses.

Revilla informed E. B. Magalona officials that he is the principal author of the Expanded Centenarian Act, which was signed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos last month.

Revilla said under the expanded Centenarian law, Filipinos who reach the age of 80, 85, 90, and 95 will receive P10,000 cash gift from the government.

But they will have to wait until next year to receive the cash gift, as the new funding was not allocated in the 2024 budget yet.

Revilla said elderly Filipinos have to register with the OSCA (Office of the Senior Citizens Affair) so they will be paid with P10,000 cash gift next year.

After the visit to E. B. Magalona, Revilla proceeded to Victorias City where he joined several stars of GMA TV network for a "Kapuso Fiesta Show" at the Sidlak Victorias Global City, as part of the opening day of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival.*
