The construction of the Land Transportation Office extension office in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, is slated to start early next year, Mayor Marvin Malacon said yesterday.

This was after the LTO, led by its regional director in Western Visayas, Roland Ramos, and EB Magalona officials led by Malacon yesterday signed the deed of donation for the 2,000-square meter lot in Brgy. Tabigue, EB Magalona, that will be used as the site of the LTO extension office.

It was the family of lawyer Gary Acuña who donated the lot to the municipality of EB Magalona, for use by LTO, as facilitated by the municipal government.

Malacon said the construction of the P3 million LTO extension office will be financed by the municipal government of EB Magalona.

The establishment of an LTO extension office in EB Magalona, Ramos said, will decongest transactions at the LTO offices in the cities of Bacolod and Cadiz.

Ramos also thanked the municipal officials of EB Magalona led by Malacon for making into a reality the extension office in the town.

While the establishment of the LTO extension office in EB Magalona, will bring the necessary services of LTO closer to the constituents of the 3rd district and other neighboring areas, it will also further boost the growing economy of the town.

Malacon also acknowledged the support the Sangguniang Bayan of EB Magalona led by Vice-Mayor Eric Matulac, and various department heads.*
