EB Magalona joins “Oplan Ligtas Pamayanan” fire prevention campaign

            The Municipality of EB Magalona, under the administration of Mayor Marvin M. Malacon, joins the “Oplan Ligtas Pamayanan” campaign of the Bureau of Fire Protection in observance of the 2019 Fire Prevention Month. With the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kalaaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin”, the said campaign aims to increase consciousness on fire safety at home and motivate the public to take fire safety as everyone’s concern.

            In EB Magalona, it was launched yesterday with a program followed by motorcade participated by municipal employees, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), LDRRMO, ntional government employees and residents. Among the activities slated by the LGU also are information drive in all barangays and schools.

            “We cannot have a progressive community if we have an unsafe community. That is why being a ‘Tumandok’ of this town, we do our best to make sure our homes, communities, and schools are safe and peaceful. This is the reason why we are in support of activities such this because the safety and life of our residents are our utmost priority,” Mayor Malacon said.

            Mayor Malacon, the Chairperson of the EB Magalona Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC), recently turned over utility vehicle to the LDRRM office as part of the disaster preparedness program of the LGU. Last February 21, 2019, the Municipality also joined the nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to increase public knowledge and awareness on disaster preparedness and response.

Programs on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), and Peace and Order are among the priorities of Mayor Malacon in his administration’s “TUMANDOK CARES” Development Agenda
