EB Magalona inter-barangay sports league to open on March 16, 2019

            EB Magalona Mayor Marvin M. Malacon announced that the schedule of the opening of the 3rd Mayor Marvin Malacon Basketball and Volleyball League will be on March 16, 2019. There will be a parade at 1:00pm starting from the assembly area in Caltex Highway to EB Magalona Public Plaza. An opening ceremony will then follow on the said venue.

Also known as the “Liga De Saravia”, it will be participated in by all 23 barangays of the town. For the basketball competition, 8 teams will compete in 12-under category while 18 teams for both the 18-under and Open categories. In volleyball, 14 teams will vie for the title in the Men’s category while 6 in the Women’s category.

            With the activity, Mayor Malacon aims to provide a venue for residents to engage in a healthy sports competition while promoting the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity among them. He also added that it will also encourage the participants to develop healthy lifestyle and stay away from harmful vices like drugs.
           
Programs on health development and sports are among the priorities of the administration of Mayor Malacon under its “TUMANDOK CARES” Development Agenda.
