Malacon said the P50 million earmarked by the town for the acquisition of the heavy equipment is part of the P200 million loan acquired by the municipal government from the Land Bank of the Philippines.

The heavy equipment include an excavator, bulldozer, grader, backhoe loaded, and two units of six-wheeler dump trucks.

“My administration gives priority to the acquisition of this heavy equipment to solve the problem on flooding and for concreting of farm to market roads which I saw in the past three years that I have been going around the town,” Malacon said.

The areas that need to be concreted, according to the mayor are Barangays San Isidro, Canlusong, Alacaygan and parts of Consing, Nanka, Pasil, Cudangdang, Damgo, Tanza, San Jose, Sto.Nino, Gahit, Latasan.

He said that they choose the Case Brand of heavy equipment which are made in the United States to make sure that it will last long.

“This is a clear manifestation of service to the people. We availed the loan because the people needed these especially for bringing down their produce from the hinterlands,” Malacon said.

Aside from the acquisition of heavy equipment, Malacon revealed that the P140 million public market of the town will soon rise. The construction, he said, will start in two to three months.

The municipal government also earmarked P10 million for the town’s computerization program, he said, adding they are looking for a company that will undertake the project. (TDE)
