The Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail (TMET) in Barangay Tomongtong E. B. Magalona now has a Bakery and Refreshment store.
The store, being managed by the TMET Women Workers' Association, was inaugurated this morning [June 28].
The blessing and inauguration ceremonies were led by Fr. Teresa Alvarez, Punong Barangay Haydiginia Bendecion, and other barangay officials.
TMET is operated and managed by the Municipal Government. The construction of the Bakery and Refreshment store was sponsored by Mayor Marvin Malacon, with assistance from DSWD-Sustainable Livelihood Program.
The store, which also sells souvenir items such as shirts and accessories, serves as additional source of livelihood of the members of TMET Women Workers' Association.
Vargas enjoined the women members to take good care of the store so it will last longer and will benefit more clients and visitors.
For her part, Hibionada said the DSWD is very supportive of projects that empower women and housewives.
"Blessings are abundant as we celebrate this new venture, which is set to empower our community and provide delicious treats," Hibionada added in a Facebook post.
The Bakery and Refreshment store is open from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Mondays to Fridays, and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.*
