'PINTA BASURAHAN' CONTEST LAUNCHED

In celebration of the National Arts Month, the Municipal Government, led by Mayor Marvin Malacon, tapped the artistic talent of the students of E. B. Magalona National High School (EBMNHS) for its "Pinta Basurahan" 2023 Contest.


The E. B. Magalona MENRO (Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office) launched the Pinta Basurahan Contest Wednesday [Feb. 22], with MENRO-designate Jojo Vargas announcing the contest guidelines and mechanics during the flag ceremony at the E. B. Magalona National High School.

Spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), the contest was launched Wednesday [Feb. 22].

This is a group painting contest, with eight groups representing the eight academic subjects. The participants come from the Junior High School and the Senior High School of EBMNHS.

Each group has four students and one teacher-adviser. Each group is given four trash bins on which to paint their artwork. MENRO has provided the participants with paint and brushes, and P500 in cash for extra materials.

Vargas said the cash prizes are:
P7,000 - Champion
P5,000 - 1st Runner-Up
P4,000 - 2nd Runner-Up
P2,000 - Consolation

Also at stake are special awards, including Social Media Choice Award.

Judging of artwork and announcement of winners will be on March 1 at 3:00 PM at the EBMNHS Covered Court.*
