A new Land Transportation Office that will bring services closer to the residents of the Third District of Negros Occidental was inaugurated in EB Magalona town on Monday afternoon, July 18.

The inauguration was led by Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Rep. Francisco Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District), author of the law creating the LTO district office in EB Magalona, and Mayor Marvin Malacon.

“It is now common knowledge that the LTO Office in Bacolod City is oftentimes overloaded and congested, teeming with people seeking land transportation services from all over the province and Bacolod City”, Lacson said.

More than aiding the overloaded office in Bacolod City, the EB Magalona office will bring the services of the LTO closer to the constituents of Northern Negros Occidental, particularly the 3rd District, and boost the local economy, Lacson said.

Lacson thanked the family of former Negros Occidental board member Garry Acuña for donating the land for the LTO office.

Malacon said 2,000 square meters was donated for the LTO office, which building was funded by the provincial government.

Benitez said the EB Magalona office will mean faster processing of the LTO needs of residents of the Third District and northern Negros.

It will also boost EB Magalona’s economy, he added.*
