The command conference is a series of orientation with stakeholders on the rollout of MR-bOPV in the municipality on May 1 to 31.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Edmundo Janeo Jr. said they held a meeting with the members of the Local Health Board and the Municipal Nutrition Committee, both chaired by Mayor Marvin Malacon, last March 14, where they tackled the preparations for the MR-bOPV SIA.

They held the first Municipal Command Conference on MR-bOPV SIA last March 16, involving 21 RHU personnel, including nurses and midwives. They discussed activities in the conduct of SIA such as demand generation and community engagement, cold chain management, AEFI surveillance and management, and microplanning.

The second Municipal Command Conference on MR-bOPV SIA is happening this week, from March 17 to 24, involving other stakeholders like Punong Barangays, Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Sanitary Inspectors, Daycare Workers, and personnel of MDRRMO, PNP, BFP, and Municipal Links.

Joining the orientation today [March 21] was BAKAS (Barangay Kagawads Association of Saravia) president Matthew Louis Malacon.

In preparation for the monthlong activities, the MHO is also set to conduct meetings next week with the members of Vaccination Operations Center, with Malacon as VOC commander.

Janeo said the MR-bOPV SIA aims to help curb the transmission of measles, rubella and polio, and assist in long-term goal of eliminating measles in the country.*
