EB Magalona OFW Repatriated

The E.B. Magalona OFW Help Desk had assisted Donna Saber, a distressed OFW from Dubai City in United Arab Emirates, upon her arrival at the Bacolod- Silay Airport, and brought her home to Hacienda Lumbia Barangay Alicante Thursday [May 18].

Saber suffered a stroke. Her mother sought the help of OWWA thru the E. B. Magalona OFW Help Desk, headed by Jessilyn Plaza.

Her repatriation was facilitated by the Center for Migrant Advocacy, thru the Philippine Consulate in Dubai, which assisted her in her flight home.

Nilo Ortizo, president of E. B. Magalona OFW Federation, said Saber's repatriation was delayed because she is diabetic. She was only allowed to go home when her blood sugar levels had stabilized, he added.

Picking up Saber from the Bacolod-Silay Airport to her residence were EBM OFW Help Desk focal person Liza Borja, EBM OFW Federation president Nilo Ortizo, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) personnel Jessie Yorac and Regie Lasconia, with the previous assistance in paperworks from Acting Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Emy Lyn Hibionada and MDRRMO head Mary Angeline Gustilo.*
