E. B. Magalona marked 2022 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

The Municipal Government of E. B. Magalona marked the 2022 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, during the flag-raising ceremony at the Public Plaza on November 21, 2022.

The local officials and municipal employees lit candles and offered prayers for road crash victims, survivors, and their families.

The WDoR is commemorated on the third Sunday of November every year. It falls on Nov. 20 this year.

The Philippines adopted the WDoR by promulgating Republic Act No. 11468. It also designated the third Sunday of November as the "National Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims, Survivors, and their Families."

The United Nations reported that road traffic injuries are now the leading killer of people aged 5-29 years old worldwide.

The Day has become an important tool in global efforts to reduce road casualties. It offers an opportunity for drawing attention to the scale of emotional and economic devastation caused by road crashes and for giving recognition to the suffering of road crash victims and the work of support and rescue services.*
