EB MAGALONA CROPS AND LIVESTOCK INSURANCE
Mayor Marvin Malacon addresses the rice farmers and livestock raisers of E. B. Magalona during the distribution of indemnity checks from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Wednesday [July 5].
A total of 204 rice farmers and livestock raisers of the Municipality of E. B. Magalona have received their indemnity assistance for damaged crops and livestock, from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) at the payout at the Public Plaza Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
The beneficiaries are from Barangays Canlusong, San Isidro, Manta-angan, Tuburan, and Poblacion III.
Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, SB Member Reylan Gamboa Sr., Barangay Kagawad Association of Saravia (BAKAS) president Matthew Louis Malacon, PCIC- Bacolod head Ariel Batuigas, Municipal Planning and Development Office head Engr. Erwin Poniado, Acting Municipal Agriculture Officer Efren Garcia Jr., and PCIC Third District insurance underwriter Charlon Melendres.
Mayor Marvin Malacon, Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, Sangguniang Bayan Member Reylan Gamboa Sr., chair of the SB Committee on Agriculture, PCIC- Bacolod head Ariel Batuigas, and Acting Municipal Agriculture Officer Efren Garcia Jr. led the distribution of checks.

Garcia said the beneficiaries received an assistance ranging from P1,800 to P13,000 in indemnity for their damaged crops or livestock due to pest infestation and diseases this year.
The PCIC has distributed a total of P849,000 in indemnity insurance in E. B. Magalona yesterday.
Garcia added that the Municipality of E. B. Magalona is the first local government unit in Negros Occidental to sponsor the premium fee of its farmers and fisherfolk who want to insure their crops, livestock, and fishing boats.
Joining the distribution program were Municipal Planning and Development Office head Engr. Erwin Poniado, Barangay Kagawad Association of Saravia (BAKAS) president Matthew Louis Malacon, and PCIC Third District insurance underwriter Charlon Melendres.*
