Patient no. 13 (WV 1940) is a seafarer who arrived in Negros Occidental on August 3, 2020. Upon arrival, he was taken to a hotel in Bacolod where swab test was conducted. RT-PCR/swab test result released August 1, 2020 showed patient is POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). He is currently without symptoms and has been transferred to the Provincial Healing Center while in recovery.

E.B. Magalona Patients No. 6 & 7 (Front line workers)


Patient No. 6 (WV 896) is a front line worker in a private hospital in Bacolod city and had been going home to his residence in E.B. Magalona daily. On July 17, 2020, he first experienced symptoms including body malaise and itchiness of throat. He was swabbed on July 21, 2020 and was subsequently admitted at the hospital where he is currently employed. He tested POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 in his swab test results released on July 24, 2020.
Patient No. 7 (WV 902) is also a front line worker in a private hospital in Bacolod city. He has been staying in an apartment in Bacolod. On July 18, 2020, he experienced flu-like symptoms. He was swabbed on July 21, 2020 and results released on July 24, 2020 showed that he is POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Today, he has been transferred and admitted to the hospital where he currently works.

Contact tracing has been conducted and appropriate actions have been taken.

Magalona about confirmed cases of COVID-19 are meant to provide the public with information which may aid in contact tracing and perhaps remind the public not to be complacent. Patient no. 13 (WV 1940) is a seafarer who arrived in Negros Occidental on August 3, 2020. Upon arrival, he was taken to a hotel in Bacolod where swab test was conducted. RT-PCR/swab test result released August 1, 2020 showed patient is POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). He is currently without symptoms and has been transferred to the Provincial Healing Center while in recovery.

E.B. Magalona Patients No. 6 & 7 (Front line workers)


Patient No. 6 (WV 896) is a front line worker in a private hospital in Bacolod city and had been going home to his residence in E.B. Magalona daily. On July 17, 2020, he first experienced symptoms including body malaise and itchiness of throat. He was swabbed on July 21, 2020 and was subsequently admitted at the hospital where he is currently employed. He tested POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 in his swab test results released on July 24, 2020.
Patient No. 7 (WV 902) is also a front line worker in a private hospital in Bacolod city. He has been staying in an apartment in Bacolod. On July 18, 2020, he experienced flu-like symptoms. He was swabbed on July 21, 2020 and results released on July 24, 2020 showed that he is POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Today, he has been transferred and admitted to the hospital where he currently works.

Contact tracing has been conducted and appropriate actions have been taken.

Magalona about confirmed cases of COVID-19 are meant to provide the public with information which may aid in contact tracing and perhaps remind the public not to be complacent. They are not shared to spread panic and perpetuate discrimination of patients and front line workers. We strongly stand against any form of discrimation. He arrived in Negros Occidental on July 16, 2020 via sweeper plane and was quarantined at a hotel in Bacolod city. Another RT-PCR/swab test was conducted while in quarantine. On July 20, 2020, patient tested "POSITIVE" for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in swab test. Patient also experienced cough, sore throat, runny nose and mild diarrhea. He has been transferred and is currently at the COVID referral hospital in Cadiz City for isolation and monitoring.

EB Magalona Patient No. 2 (LSI): Patient No 2 is a 32 year old, female resident of Brgy. Tuburan and has a travel history to Iloilo. She arrived from Iloilo on July 4, 2020 and was quarantined at the EBM quarantine facility where swab test was done. She remained in the facility while waiting for results. Today (July 14, 2020), patient's RT-PCR/swab test result was released and she tested "POSITIVE" for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Patient is currently asymptomatic and has been transferred to the Provinicial healing center and isolated. Contact tracing is underway.
