Rommel Hechanova and Louie Jay Villarosa, both of Team E. B. Magalona, were among the special awardees of the 1st Cong. Kiko's Cup - Metro 3rd Inter-LGU Open Category Basketball Tournament that culminated Saturday [Feb. 4]. Hechanova was chosen the Season MVP (Most Valuable Player), while Villarosa was one of the Mythical Five Players.

Team E. B. Magalona emerged as first runner-up of the 1st Cong. Kiko’s Cup. They gave Talisay City a close fight, 73-71, during their Championship Game at the E. B. Magalona Public Plaza over the weekend.

Attending the awarding ceremony were 3rd District Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, E. B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon, Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez, Talisay City Vice Mayor Jose Nicolas Jalandoni III, E. B. Magalona Councilors Isidro Gomed Jr. and Edgardo Agravante Jr., Silay City Councilors Ryan Gamboa and Lyndon Bernardo, and Talisay City Councilors Kenn Thomas Tirthdas and Rolin Albert Meliton (7th from left), who was the tournament manager.*
