181 more E. B. Magalona beneficiaries receive DOLE-TUPAD wages

Another batch of DOLE- TUPAD (Department of Labor and Employment – Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers) beneficiaries from E. B. Magalona, this time comprised of 181 residents, received their wages during a payout at the Public Plaza Tuesday [July 2].

Leading the payout were TUPAD focal person Ma. Victoria Diwata Borines and TUPAD cordinator Andrea Aquino. Assisting them were personnel of E. B. Magalona Public Employment Service Office (PESO), headed by manager- designate Maricris Chavez.

Gracing the payout were Mayor Marvin Malacon, Private Secretary Joel Antonio, Consultant Ramie Babac, OFWs Help Desk focal person Liza Borja, and E. B. Magalona OFWs Federation president Nilo Ortizo.

In his message, Mayor Malacon advised the beneficiaries to spend their DOLE-TUPAD wages wisely; like, spending it on food and their source of livelihood.

Malacon added that the local and national governments have a strong partnership in looking for ways to assist displaced and disadvantaged workers, as well as indigent residents and senior citizens.

The DOLE-TUPAD beneficiaries received P4,800 in wages after rendering 10 days of cleanup drive and waste segregation in their respective barangays.

Earlier, the beneficiaries were given PPEs (personal protective equipment) - comprised of long sleeves shirt, printed DOLE cap, and face masks - for use in the cleanup drive and waste segregation.

Previously, 50 beneficiaries from E. B. Magalona received their DOLE-TUPAD wages last January 30, and another 540 beneficiaries last January 10.*
