There are sectors in the country that consider OFWs as modern day heroes, there are those who consider medical front liners as such. I personally, included in that list of super heroes - teachers.

Our teachers have molded men and women to be our leaders, doctors, lawyers, engineers, and many more. We owed a lot to these bunch of people whose undying and untiring dedication have made us what we are today.

Their patience and perseverance are unequaled. Trying to steady a bunch of kids who prefer playing rather than studying.

These teachers felt the happiness and joy these kids have accomplished. They don’t expect accolades nor awards for themselves - they just kept it to themselves - seeing them succeed is an award in itself.

They are one of the lowly paid public servants. They are tapped to serve in census and surveys, they put their lives ensuring a clean and credible elections, and oftentimes spend their own money decorating their classrooms - but no one remembers and nobody cares.
Today, the country celebrates teacher’s day - a fitting tribute to our teachers who have dedicated their productive lives to ensure every citizen has access to quality education.
