WORK IMMERSION.
March 12, 2024
Ten Grade 12 students of E. B. Magalona National High School- Canlusong Annex in Barangay Canlusong paid a courtesy call on Mayor Marvin Malacon today [March 12] before they start their 10-day work immersion at the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail in Barangay Tomongtong.
The students were accompanied by their school principal, Mary Ann Penetrante, and Grade 12 Work Immersion teacher in-charge Von Bryan Robles.
Joining the mayor were Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon and MENRO-designate Jojo Vargas.
Malacon said the work immersion will give students residing in upland barangays an opportunity to experience daily living and working in the town proper and in coastal barangays.
The students belong to Batch 1 of Work Immersion trainees. More batches will come from upland barangays to train in the town proper.
The work immersion is part of the DepEd curriculum for K-12 (Senior High School) students in preparation for their future career or employment.
Under the Work Immersion program, student trainees are provided with hands-on work experiences or work simulations by partner-institutions or agencies.
This program becomes a platform in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application by allowing students to learn real-life work skills from real-time learning opportunities.*
