Assistance For Seven distressed overseas Filipino workers

ASSISTANCE | Seven distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from various barangays of E. B. Magalona have received livelihood assistance from three government agencies at separate turnover ceremonies in Bacolod City recently. Of the seven OFWs, one received P20,000, while another received P10,000, both from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) under its "Balik 'Pinas Balik Hanapbuhay" Program.
Four of them received P10,000 livelihood assistance each from the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO); and one received P30,000 Aksyon Fund from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW)-NCRO.
Additionally, three OFW families from E. B. Magalona have received P25,000 each from OWWA, under its OFW Family Assistance Program.
The assistance was facilitated by the Office of Mayor Marvin Malacon, OFWs Help Desk, headed by PESO manager-designate Maricris Chavez; and Migrants Help Desk focal person Liza Borja.
Anne Ascuna and Jonnielyn Alicaya, both of OWWA; DMW-NCRO OIC-Director Glenda Aligonza, and DMW Budget Officer Carmen Nagum led the turnover of checks at separate ceremonies at OWWA and POEA offices in Bacolod City recently.*
