134 APPLICANTS FINISH THEORETICAL DRIVING COURSE SEMINAR IN E. B. MAGALONA
April 26, 2024
A total of 134 applicants for student driver's permit, coming from E. B. Magalona and neighboring cities, have finished the two-day Theoretical Driving Course Seminar conducted at the town's Public Plaza on April 25-26.
The applicants received today [April 26] a certificate of completion from Reuben Tampos, acting chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) E. B. Magalona District Office; Bernard Bacay of the LTO Regional Office- 6 Traffic Safety Unit; Neel Abordaje, driver skill rater of LTO E. B. Magalona District Office, and Joel Antonio, private secretary of Mayor Marvin Malacon.
Tampos, Bacay, and Abordaje were their lecturers for two days, while Antonio represented Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon who sponsored the seminar.
This free seminar on theoretical driving course was part of the official activities for the 35th Ugyonan Festival, the main fiesta of E. B. Magalona, that also kicks off today.
The seminar was sponsored by Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon, in partnership with Mayor Marvin Malacon and LTO Regional Office- 6.
Speaking on the first day (April 25) of the seminar, EA Malacon said the seminar on theoretical driving course would have cost about P3,000 per participant if one enrolls in driving schools, but he sponsored the seminar as part of his advocacy on road safety.
Responsible driving starts from being a responsible student driver, he stressed, and through this activity, we aim to produce more responsible professional drivers in the country.
Tampos said the two-day seminar on theoretical driving course ran for 15 hours and the completion certificate from this seminar is one of the requirements for a Student Driver's Permit.
Tampos, however, clarified that after issuance of Student Driver's Permit (one month and one day), one needs to apply for a Non- Professional Driver's License.
To get a Non-Professional Driver's License, you are required to undergo an 8-hour Practical Driving Course in any LTO-accredited driving school with a fee, as the LTO does not offer a free Practical Driving Course.*
